The powerful effect of journaling is underestimated, while some individuals do not know what journaling is all about. The book Mindset Medicine by Mari L. Mccarthy highlights the importance of journaling and self-love. By telling us her life story of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), she highlights how journaling became her medicine for life, not just journaling but the act of self-love. How far did Mari Mccarthy go in this act? The saying, “you are what you believe”, how can it affect one’s lifestyle? The answers to these questions and more can be found in this powerful book.

Every individual suffers from guilt, and by this, we fail to acknowledge that we are still doing well nonetheless. We fail to pride ourselves on our little heroic actions, thereby neglecting the act of self-love. Mari Mccarthy tells us in her book that by journaling, we get to free ourselves of many internal problems we face. She spills many secrets on how we can live and lead good lives by doing things we easily and often ignore. The only way to find out about these little secrets is by reading this knowledge-filled educating book.

Mindset medicine is an educative book filled with much wisdom. I consistently underestimated the fighting power of journaling. Still, on accessing this book, I understand that it serves your thoughts and can direct you, either positive or negative, and you are the only driver of your thoughts. Also, you are the only cheerleader of your life, but you can choose to get affected if you allow other individuals to live your life for you. Journaling is an excellent act of meditating, and with this, you can feel at peace with yourself.

Also, not forget that self-love is the most important gift we can give to ourselves. All this and many more are what I got educated on in this book. The book also contained a lot of real-life facts that readers would be able to relate to. For the negative aspect, I encountered a few minimal spelling errors. However, these errors did not affect the passing out of information in this book as it was still professionally edited.

I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars, not minding the negative point stated above. This is because a lot of information was passed across through this book in the most relatable form possible. I recommend this book to every individual interested in discovering the positive power of journaling.

My daughter has been journaling religiously since she was able to write. I, on the other hand, found it useless and time-consuming. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, and the neurologist suggested I keep a pain and headache diary. So I did, for a few months, but having to write down all my symptoms and keep track of them made me more depressed because I was reminded of them each time I opened my journal. Maybe this book will convince me.
