The book Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Japanese Edition) was written by Peter Liptak. It contains about 300 idioms which are under 25 chapters. The idioms explained in this book are carefully sorted as they would help in daily conversations and interactions with people of various fields. Each chapter contains about 10- 15 idioms and each idiom is explained in both English and Japanese.

This is the first book on idioms I have come across and the author did a good job in explaining idioms better. The translation to Japanese is also a good thing that the author did because it would also help those that understand only Japanese language as well as those that are learning how to speak the language. They would find it very helpful.

The name of the book was used intentionally by the author. He pointed out that if your goal is to conquer English, you must conquer idioms ( before they attack you). Idioms are not as easy as vocabulary building but Peter made it easier in this book by providing exercises at the end of every chapter as well as stories that can enable one to learn and understand idioms easily. The examples provided are there to help one to have an in-depth understanding for the meaning of the idioms.

This book does not contain all the idioms but were carefully selected to include those that are frequently used and tend to be more useful than the others because of how much they are used in our daily conversations and interactions with other people. The examples were carefully constructed to support the definition of each of the idioms so that the meaning may easily be deducted from the examples. I understood quite a number of them from just reading the examples.

This book can also be used in schools by teachers as a guide in teaching idioms and it can also be used for self study to develop oneself in speaking English. This book is easy to read and understand. The author made use of clear and concise words that would enable the reader to find it easy to read as well as understand. I found it very helpful and would recommend it for anyone.

The editors of this book did a very great job as I didn't realize any errors while reading. There is no vulgar or profane word used and that is applaudable. I give it 4 out of 4 rating and recommend it for anyone and everyone seeking to conquer idioms and become better at it. This book simplifies the entire subject matter of idioms.
