Review of Winning the War on Cancer
For several decades, cancer has continued to plague people all over the world. Already, millions of dollars and a lot of manpower have been put into finding solutions to this issue. The question is, how much headway has been made? Winning The War on Cancer by Sylvie Beljanski gave a dramatic account that served as a memoir that answered the above question and provided many other insights.
In this book, the author continued with the works of her late father, Mirko Beljanski, who discovered the Pao Pereira and Rauwolfia Vomitoria, which have anticancer powers. Unfortunately, Mirko was met with lots of resistance, particularly from the government. The author takes charge and swears to complete what her father started. The book explained why alternatives to chemotherapy would never be patronized but still gave methods and processes for reliving cancer through natural cure. Read this book to find out what other information the author has compiled in it.
I must say that I was first of all intrigued by the cover page and the book’s title, which were catchy and analytical. The author explained its concept and content clearly and was very descriptive in explaining the medical activities that take place in the laboratory so that an average person could have access to this information since the government has been making solid efforts to frustrate the work of scientists. The author was considerate enough to write in a simple language such that non-medical individuals could have a vivid and clear explanation of the book’s content.
Having read other books on cancer, it is heartbreaking to find out how the government of a country puts so much effort into taking lives that it should be saving. Lots of money has been put into the research of cancer, but not so much ground has been covered against it. Or, they have been covered up as financial profit has now surpassed human health and wellbeing. It showed how the pharmaceutical and medical industries work to extend and not eradicate this illness. The book further taught about alternatives to chemotherapy and recommended an all-around approach to health, including natural treatment, in an impartial tone. It was a mixture of science, history, and natural medicine. Readers get to learn about the processes of DNA, HIV, RNA, and various cancer formations and the importance of making decisions about one's health, laying emphasis on individuals' right to choose. The book was an eye-opener.
The author included pictures and graphics that made the book entertaining to read. The book was also well researched as it contained so many references. The author's further included stories of people whose cancers were cured through natural products. It authenticated the author's teachings. While growing up, the author felt neglected by her parents, but her ability to understand the reason for their actions was quite touching. She even took it upon herself to continue, as this book was a result of her trying to validate the work of her late father. It was the story of a woman who struggled to make a difference, and she described the process of achieving it. The author's story was very inspiring as it would help save and extend life.
There was nothing to dislike about this book. It featured a story of determination and hope and rallied for a cancer-free world. Although the footnotes might be a little confusing, they could be sorted out and understood with a little bit of attention. The book had all the traits of a lawyer’s work rather than a scientist's, which widened the audience's interest range. The book was also professionally edited, as I found no errors while reading it. Therefore, I rate this book four out of four stars for excellence.
I recommend this book to medical research professionals as well as anyone who wants to know about cancer. It might be helpful not just for yourself but for a family member, relative, or friend in need of the information contained in this book. It was well packaged and engrossing.
