Review of The Business of Cannabis: A Blueprint to a High Income
Cannabis has been used medically for thousands of years. It is still illegal in many parts of the United States; however, governments are slowly legalizing it for medicinal and recreational use. Because of this change, citizens are starting to establish businesses to sell this plant. How does one get started? What are the first steps to planning this type of business? Are there any laws that may affect future business opportunities? The Business Of Cannabis: A Blueprint To A High Income, written by Jared Kesselman, answers all of these questions and more. Readers will learn many things about this business, such as the various marijuana growth processes, ways marijuana can be created and sold, and the career opportunities in this field. This book is not a casual read because it provides an in-depth analysis that educates readers on how to take advantage of this fast-growing career field.
I liked that the author explained the various ways people take cannabis. Before reading this book, I was only aware of pre-rolls and edibles. Jared explained the other forms and their popularity for readers to understand and see business potential. For example, I learned that no part of the marijuana plant goes to waste; every part of it has a use. I do not want to spoil anything, so I will leave this for readers to discover on their own. I had no idea that this plant gained many uses due to user creativity over the years.
The marketing part of this book was another section that I enjoyed. Relationships and partnerships play vital roles in this aspect of the cannabis business, which means that a personable pitching team is a priority. Jared provides advertising tactics to show readers how to think outside the box and create something that will attract customers. If a business is new and wants to push its product, there are plenty of sales and promotion suggestions to read through. Jared did not leave readers with any questions regarding the next step in their business ventures.
The glossary in the back of the book was a great inclusion because it helped me many times. If I did not understand or forgot a term, I could refer to this glossary to clear up my misunderstanding. Even if the reader does not know anything about this business, they will not feel lost. Jared knew how to speak to veterans and new users of marijuana, which I found pleasing and clever.
If there is one complaint I have, it would be that the book focuses on running a cannabis business in California. Because of this, the laws, licenses, and everything else referred to in this book apply to this state only. However, this exclusivity did not affect my enjoyment of the book because this made me research my state's laws for marijuana. Not only this, but it would be unreasonable to think that the author could write about every law and regulation for each state in one book. If anything, finding resources outside of this book made me enjoy it more because I learned what rules are in place for marijuana use and sales in my state.
Only four grammatical errors are in this title. Because there weren't that many errors, I believe this book was edited professionally. The Business Of Cannabis: A Blueprint To A High Income gets the entire rating of 4 out of 4 stars. The book was educative and professional, yet fun and exciting. Only one profane word was in the whole book, but it was minor. Readers interested in the inner workings of the cannabis business or opening their own cannabis business will love reading this book. Any reader who is against using marijuana will want to skip it.
