Review of The Impact of Implants
In A. B. Higgins' words, "a lot of people disparage plastic surgery and make it look like a cry for attention, I need them to know that it's more than that and there's a reason behind it." This summarizes what The Impact of Implants hopes to achieve.
Higgins journaled how she moved her breasts from A-cup to DD-cup sizes. She made it clear that she loved her body, and people around her loved her for who and how she was. However, she did have this idea of feminine beauty, which is to have a curvy lady with big round buttocks, rotund breasts, and thick legs. She was not happy with her looks and sought a way to improve them. She defended this when she explained that the same way people diet and wear makeup and pretty clothes to improve something about themselves or look more beautiful is the same way people do breast implants to improve their bodies.
I liked that Higgins did not make it look like her breasts' journey from A-cup to DD-cup sizes was full of roses. Besides, no good thing would come easy. Higgins experienced things about her breasts that disturbed her and for which she didn't bargain. However, her ability to adjust to these changes and disturbances made her a conqueror. She found a way to deal with her side breast spillage, amongst other problems. These problems did not make her regret her decision one bit.
I find this journal an avenue to recommend some brands to readers. Higgins mentions her plugs for clothing, bikini, bra, nipple cover, et cetera, and why she loves the plugs. A few of her plugs are Victoria's Secret, H&M, and Miss Hollywood. There are some others I'll allow you to discover when you read the book. These recommendations will stimulate readers to try out some products from these brands. It might look like a low-key advertisement, but I'm sure some folks won't mind these specific recommendations when they need to get some of the items.
As much as The Impact of Implants was telling a story about Higgins' journey to getting the breasts of her dreams, it didn't fail to explain the misconceptions about bras and the range of choices when selecting an outfit. I'd say that this book is also fashion-inclined. It was well written, with minimal errors. Therefore, I'd rate it four out of four stars. I'd recommend this book to persons considering having breast implants; they benefit from the author's experience with the procedure.
