Review of Gods Gift (Woman)

[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Gods Gift (Woman)" by Freddie Floyd Jr.]
"My vision is to take you back to God's Word and show you why you must have self-worth, know your value, be respected, and motivate you to get your groove back," so begins God's Gift (Woman) by Freddie Floyd Jr. Drawing from the Bible, Floyd dives right in and teaches young women about their worth through God's eyes. The author explains and emphasizes the concept of servant-leadership exemplified by Jesus. He dedicates the inspirational book to his daughter.
Floyd wrote this concise study to empower young women. His writing style is conversational and easy to follow while he discusses character traits like respect, strength, responsibility, love, and loyalty. The cover art reinforces the book’s positive message; it features the silhouette of a girl with uplifted hands and an assortment of positive adjectives, such as radiant, artistic, grateful, imaginative, and adventurous. Several of the chapters are also suitable for teaching young men about respecting women, including "Traits of a Good Man," "Equal Treatment," and "Understanding a Biblical Husband's Role." Despite its mere 63 pages, the guide is insightful and would be an excellent resource for couples preparing for marriage.
From the birth of Jesus to the healing of the woman who touched his garment, the author illustrates God's value of women, contrasting it with the world's stereotypical and often distorted views throughout history. I particularly like the ninth chapter, "You Must Teach Others How to Treat You," which encourages women to set boundaries and know their worth. Over the years, I've read countless Christian books, but I must say that Floyd's perspective is refreshing. The author supports his teaching by citing Bible verses and paraphrasing others; the content isn't new, but his application is potentially transformative.
The book will primarily appeal to Christian readers. It bears noting that Floyd addresses the roles of wives and husbands as described in the Bible; otherwise, his gender-specific characterization of men and women could be considered offensive.
Unfortunately, the book contains numerous grammatical errors, including incomplete sentences and incorrect capitalization. While Floyd usually cites the complete scriptural reference, his occasional omission of the book, chapter, and verse prevents readers from continuing a more in-depth study. In other instances, sentences include quotation marks without mentioning a source.
Overall, I rate God's Gift (Woman) 3 out of 4 stars. Although the uplifting study is an informative resource, it needs thorough professional editing. I recommend it to women, teachers, and clergy. The study will also appeal to Bible study fans.
