Review of Achiever's Trail - The Beginning
In Achiever’s Trail - The Beginning, Sorens Rughooputh walks readers through the process of applying a series of principles he developed as a result of his personal and professional experience. The author has a track record of resilience, and he shows readers that it is possible to keep moving on and thrive despite the odds. Using his life story as an example, he shows how his growth was the result of building up self-confidence and self-esteem.
What I enjoyed the most about this self-help title was the author’s straightforward language. I admired the author’s clear line of reasoning, and his recommendations were easy to understand and apply. This aspect was what I enjoyed the most about it.
Also, I appreciated the motivational angle. Besides being qualified and experienced, he is passionate about the subject and comes across as a wonderful human being. For instance, I was touched by how Rughooputh decided not to go to college to help his parents financially and show them gratitude. He explains how this decision was an important turning point in his life. Despite this, he managed to build a successful career, and he eventually got a diploma in Insurance and also an MBA.
Especially in the tumultuous circumstances of the world today, it’s good to know that we have the power to overcome adversities, no matter how challenging. The author shows us that it’s possible to achieve ambitious goals in life despite any adversity, and I found this heartwarming. Among the challenges the author faced head-on, he overcame a fear of traveling because he knew he had to do this in order to grow internationally.
On the other hand, if I had to mention a negative, I found this to be a rather predictable self-help book. We already know what to expect from it, and it is a compilation of other people’s ideas. I find nothing wrong with that, though, and the author achieved what he set out to do. Moreover, I believe that most people will relate to at least a couple of self-development principles showcased here, even if they have already heard of them.
In closing, I rate Achiever’s Trail - The Beginning 4 out of 4 stars. The book seemed professionally edited, for I found no errors in it. I also found the book well-structured. I commend the author for sharing his personal experiences with the readers, and he seems to be a great mentor. I recommend this title to those who need a boost of motivation to overcome the obstacles in their lives.
