Portia de Rossi did a great job in writing this book. I was enthralled and shocked while reading it; I actually had a hard time putting it down.

I was able to relate on a certain level with Portia’s book since as a girl and a woman, at one point in time, you just felt like you couldn’t measure up with your peer group especially during high school and the early college years. With magazines and TV and how they portray the rail-thin and skinny models, while you are reading, you find yourself transported to the situation that she is facing and the need to succeed and fit in and doing everything that is necessary to do it.

I truly appreciated Portia sharing her story and her battle with anorexia and bulimia; I know it had to be tough. However, if you are looking for answers or to help you with your recovery or a loved one’s recovery, this is not the book to read for instruction or information to overcome these disorders.

I hadn't heard that she had written a biography. I'll have to look for it.

This book was written so well and so honestly that I think it should be required reading for high school students. A lot of girls (and many women) seem to go through a phase where they start to place an unhealthy amount of attention on their weight (whether or not they develop a full fledged disorder). This book really puts that struggle into perspective and encourages girls to think about their weight and health in a positive and constructive way.
