The Altitude Journals is a beautiful in-depth novel that is written by David J Mauro. The composition of this story is very unique and symbolic of certain aspects of the author’s life. We explore the author’s life and challenges he has faced. The writer takes us with him on a beautiful journey, were we learn about him and what he had gone through.

The Altitude Journals is a sweet narration that begins talking about the authors childhood and as he grows. David is at the point of trying to find his purpose and meaning of who he is. He narrates about all the problems he has faced. David discusses his divorce, the emotional turmoil he undergoes and the process of trying to pick himself up thereafter. He eventually decides to go climbing. He submitted Denali, Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua and lastly Everest. As David discusses experiences that he underwent during the climb. Each climb helps David grow and overcome his troubles. As the story unfolds we are introduced to different characters that seem to have an impact on David life.

The Altitude Journals is a realistic book that deals with current day problems. I felt that the layout and structure of the story was drafted very well. The narration of the story was easy to follow. I personally enjoyed the fact that this story was a source of motivation for me. The story contained enough characterization which made it easy to understand. I loved the fact that I could relate to the story. The plot was simple and straightforward for anyone to follow.

I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I absolutely enjoyed it. In my opinion it is perfect. Its sense of symbolism, realism and motivation was excellent. To my knowledge the book contains no errors and was professionally edited. There was not a single aspect of the book that I did not like. The story does not contain any explicit scenes. There is use of profanity in the book but I felt that it was not excessive. The narration and layout was perfect. I felt the book had the perfect balance between narrations and detailed description of the mountains.

The Altitude Journals is a fantastic book and is great for anyone who is looking for a source of inspiration. It’s great for mature readers because it can offer a fresh perspective on life and what one may be going through.
