Cracking the Code to a Higher Power, by Elizabeth Swearman, is a devotional journal, showing how to connect with your "higher power" to enable you to conquer problems and live a peaceful life. It defines what "higher power" is and reveals how to identify and create a relationship with one. The author unveils who her "higher power" is and how he always helps her to ensure that she experiences true joy and happiness. She begins the book by telling how she was introduced into Christianity from childhood and how her father guided her, showing her where to get the answers to her problems.

This book is interesting and enlightening. It shows how to connect with God, thereby making him direct one's life in perfect peace. It contains some instructions that you can follow to make your daily life organized and fruitful. In addition, it contains some ideas on how to help your kids lead healthy, spiritual lives.

Consisting of 81 pages, Cracking the Code to a Higher Power is a quick and handy read; one you can keep close to return to for specific directions when needed. I love the way the author organized her ideas. She provides Bible verses, and under them, she gives some inspirational statements, which include some thought-provoking questions that a reader can reflect on and answer. After each statement, there are blank lines, which, I think, are for a reader to write down the answers to the questions above them.

However, though the book is helpful, it should be improved on. The author did not state specifically the unpleasant experience she had and how her "higher power" delivered her from it. Moreover, the book seems somewhat scanty; the author should add more details to explain how to use the Bible passages and her tips. It took me some time before I could understand how to use the information she provided. In addition, more personal stories should be included to make it more relatable. Readers who don't like books with the aforementioned flaws may not enjoy this one.

In conclusion, I rate Cracking the Code to a Higher Power 3 out of 4 stars. I didn't rate it lower because it's intriguing, providing useful tips for a better life. However, I couldn't rate it higher because some parts of it seem vague. It seems like it was well edited, but I noticed a few grammar errors. I recommend it to anyone who is feeling empty and lost since it contains uplifting words.
