We live in a world where everyone is beginning to acknowledge that failure is part of life. For a long time, failure has always meant the end of the road for many people, as it can be devastating. However, like me, others fear failing or do not know how to handle failure. Perhaps you are there and have been crushed by downfall after downfall, and you wish to rise again or are seeking that willpower to pursue your ambition; this is the right book for you. Justina P Shatonhoka addresses failure head-on, acknowledging its reality. Additionally, the book shows how one can harness failure and use the lessons acquired as stepping-stones to success.

In How To Deal With Failure: 21 Ways to Turn Your Mistakes Into Stepping Stones for Success, the reader learns that failure is part of everyday life. However, dogged resilience ensures one does not give up or stay down for long. How do you train your mind to constantly seek the way through and not out? How do you recognize the existence of the two lethal twins, compare and compete, and deal with them in your life? By getting rid of comparison and unhealthy competition, one begins reaping the benefits of focusing on self, like self-esteem and notable progress.

I liked the fact that the book is not just about dealing with failure in life. It entails much more. For instance, there is the place of preparation and planning in life, which ensures a person is always ready to take advantage of opportunities that present themselves. Without a plan or goal, it is impossible to notice such opportunities because one is not on the lookout. Consequently, I was motivated to revise my long-term plan, which, undoubtedly, was lacking in many areas. Readers will benefit immensely from following the author’s thoughts on how to avoid negativity, build self-confidence, establish firm convictions, reinvent oneself, and much more.

I have always enjoyed the use of humorous anecdotes, as I find them amusing and they make the reading experience captivating; I am delighted the author perfectly employed them. I did not find any negative aspects in the book. Justina has adequately spoken about failure, attitude change, building confidence, and making charisma a part of one’s personality. Addressing failure from a wide angle and the inclusion of fundamental factors in personal branding make the book invaluable and resourceful.

I rate the book three out of four stars owing to the typographical errors I encountered while reading. Another round of editing may be required to ensure the book attracts a better rating. Anyone can benefit from reading the book, but those seeking ways to deal with failure and build their brand will find it very helpful. There is no magic wand to cause an instantaneous transformation; readers must be prepared to undertake an honest journey of self-examination to discover who they are if they are to move forward.
