Bitcoin Answered, a nonfiction book by Jon Law, sets out to explain the details and intricacies of Bitcoin that are puzzling the world. Given how the representations of Bitcoin in the media can be sometimes difficult to understand, compounded by the use of a multitude of confusing terms and acronyms, this book seeks to clarify and answer a range of questions surrounding this cryptocurrency. Bitcoin Answered offers a wealth of information, from definitions of the slang used in the world of Bitcoin to explanations of investing into this cryptocurrency.

There is much to like about this book. The style of writing through which the information is conveyed is conversational and fairly informal, which makes the lengthy explanations easier to understand and overall more enjoyable to read. The author approaches the complex and vast topic of Bitcoin by starting from the most basic concepts and steadily building in difficulty. As someone who had no prior understanding of Bitcoin before reading this book, this format enables a structure of learning that spans the basic concepts to the more complex ones. As this book is split into chapters which are headed by questions, of which are answered concisely and directly, this makes navigating the book easy for those who may have specific questions about this topic. Another positive aspect is the use of images. The diagrams used throughout were a helpful learning aid in combination with the text explanations, as being able to see a visual representation was particularly helpful for certain concepts, such as the graph on Bitcoin halving.

A point of criticism that I have for this book are the instances where the structuring of sentences could be improved. The author sometimes uses very lengthy sentences, which in turn affects the overall clarity and comprehensibility of the explanations being given. The passages where the sentences are shorter and more concise are much easier to read and understand.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Bitcoin Answered certainly succeeds in the aim of answering the questions surrounding Bitcoin, whilst doing so in a manner that is enjoyable and accessible for those without any prior knowledge on the topic. Although not completely without mistakes, the book is overall well edited. Certain sentences could benefit from being shortened, but this point of criticism is not significant enough to lower my rating.

Bitcoin Answered is a book that I recommend to anyone who desires to understand Bitcoin and its strategies. Whether you have no prior understanding or already possess some knowledge on the topic, this book is perfect for a range of individuals who are interested in the subject. Given that the information is conveyed in an easy to understand and relatively informal style, both teenagers and adults who are interested in the topic would find this book good for learning.
