Chris Patrick, is a real estate agent, who has had a fair share of epic failures and setbacks. From experiencing abuse at the hands of his biological father to facing an exclusion at school from an alleged rape that left him traumatized. The alleged rape was just the beginning of his ordeals as he had to watch his businesses and marriage crumble down and it seems like it was still far from over, he was fired by his employees to say the least. Did he survive it all? Through it all, he never gave up on his dreams which teaches us the importance of perseverance.

The first thing I liked about this book, it’s a beautiful relationship that the author had with his step-dad. Often, abuse victims stay in abusive relationships because they are afraid of change and to start over. The author learned it first from her mother that failure was not the end of the world but the opportunity to try again. His mother grew accustomed to the abuse but eventually realised her worth and left her abusive marriage, not only was that decision better for herself but best for her sons as well. The author, his mother and brother found solace in Gary, the step-father. “Gary became the father I didn’t know I needed” page 26. It clearly shows that in Gary, Chris Patrick did not just find a father figure but a role model too. I also enjoyed end of chapter exercises because they allowed me to dig deeper within myself not just as an aspiring entrepreneur but as an individual. This is a very inspirational book by Chris Patrick and I was moved by the interviews the he had conducted with successful people who stumbled on their way to the top. They never gave up whatever life threw at them and they viewed failure as an opportunity to try again and that is one lesson that I’m taking with me. I’ve also learned that it is okay to fail at something and it’s okay to start over as long as you persevere that’s what matters most as endurance builds strength. Last but not least, the power of manifestation. This author has taught me that when you manifest something consider it done because when you have doubts, the message you are sending to the universe is a negative one and the universe will assume you are not ready “you never have to worry about money again” as I have been manifesting money lately, I have no doubts that it will flow into my hands????.

There is absolutely nothing I find odd about this book, no typos and poor grammar. Everything is aligned and yes there’s swear words like “shitstorm” and “shitshow” on the first chapter but I personally feel like that is how he felt at that time and hadn’t he used those words to describe his emotions and feelings the effect of his speech would be quite low.

This is a well-written book and it deserves a whopping 4/4.

I recommend it to anyone looking for personal improvement, leadership and mental flexibility.
