Review of A Dream For Peace
When we were kids, we never thought people could discriminate against anyone because of their skin color. When we grew up and discovered the term "racism," we were stunned. How could people hate others because of their skin color? We found out later on that it wasn't about a person's skin color because some people still experience racism despite not being black.
This was part of the experience of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah while he was a kid, and this experience continued into his adulthood. He lost his father at a tender age, and his mother served as his father while also playing her usual role as his mother. She ensured her son got a formal education. While Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was still in high school in Algeria, he experienced racism. Despite being young, he wasn't afraid; he stood up and held his ground. He retained this trait until he got a scholarship to study medicine in France. Despite leaving his home country, Algeria, he continued to experience racism. He became very vocal and active against it, risking expulsion and the loss of his scholarship.
A Dream for Peace is an inspirational book that could inspire generations upon generations. Africans have always been the most discriminated against race, suffering the effects of racism like no other. It would have been worse if people had not come to the rescue. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was one of these heroes. He stood up for his people, despite persecution.
This is a book that could inspire the younger generations because they have a big task ahead in combating racism.
Berrah's mother is a force to reckon with. She is a role model that mothers should emulate. Although the author might have gotten his fighting spirit from his father, I think he got his soft and affectionate traits from his mother. Despite the fact that she lost her husband when her son was still very young, she was able to pick up where her husband left off, ensuring that her son got an education and became someone important.
This is a book that will teach and expose readers to the historical cultures of some African countries, especially Algeria and Morocco. This is another aspect that would make readers enjoy the book more. There was nothing I disliked about this book. This book was professionally edited as I was only able to find one error. Therefore, I will give A Dream for Peace a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to all Africans.
