When reading any memoir written by a Holocaust Survivor, we must be careful to never judge decisions made, as circumstances- horrible, unimaginable - cause one to make decisions which seem unreasonable to the outside observer. But, we must remember these were unbelievable times where all reason seemed to have vanished.
This is the memoir of Aliza Barak-Ressler, and she details the account of how she and her family survived impossible times and situations, thanks to the resourcefulness and positive attitude of her father. Her mother, was also resourceful in her own right.
As Aliza herself admitted, her father had no plan, and his decisions made no sense, but they survived.
I reviewed this book on behalf of Yad Vashem and it can be purchased at Amazon.
