Many authors have written books on the subject of Motivation. Few have approached the subject with the mastery that the author of this book has exhibited. In his book The Maestro MONOLOGUE, Rob White tackles the subject of motivation with unparalleled expertise. He takes the reader on an expedition of self-discovery. He takes the reader through various stages from self-doubt to what he calls a Maestro, a fully consummate individual. He does this through a series of well-defined concepts. He uses stories, metaphors and exercises to fortify the concepts. He captivatingly talks about attributes, both good and bad, that readers will undoubtedly identify themselves with. The end-product is a self-confident and positive-thinking individual.

I like the ease with which Rob approaches the subject matter. He makes the reader identify himself or herself with the characteristics of the various stages of transformation from a self-demeaning person to a colossus who assumes a rightful position in the world. He dispels self-limiting characteristics by substituting these with positive thinking. He works on the individual’s belief system by defining an individual’s current state of affairs. He then describes the negative traits that inhibit positive growth. He follows up with exercises to help the reader to shed off these negative traits. He then introduces concepts that build on the positive traits. He reinforces these with well-articulated exercises and citations. This is a reference book that a reader will keep going back to.

The book is well-written and the ideas flow smoothly. This makes it easy to read and follow the stages through which Rob takes the reader on this journey to self-actualization. The exercises are easy and interesting but are thought-provoking. These are meant to buttress the principles that Rob expertly introduces in the book. The author introduces life-changing concepts and also uses quotations from other great minds. These quotations reinforce the subject matter under discussion in each chapter of the book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book is skillfully written and excellently edited. It is an easy book to read. The ideas flow seamlessly from one chapter to the next. The concepts are well presented, defined and skillfully interconnected.

This motivational book is a masterpiece and I recommend it to anyone that wishes to understand themselves better. This is a practical book that will transform self-doubters into high achievers. It is a life-changing expedition that leaves the reader wanting more. I certainly do!
