Do you believe in the supernatural? Are you one of those who presumes that there are invisible beings that walk among us? Is it possible to actually connect with them and even communicate with them? Conversing with Various Entities is one such spoke in the wheel that exhibits the probability of actual communication with such supernatural beings.

Mary Ellen Wall, the author of this fascinating, short book, is a woman of science. The book begins with a conversation between the author and a driller, whom she hires to locate an underground water source in the field surrounding her cabin. He explains the concept of dousing to the author, which she finds fascinating. When she tries dowsing herself and feels connected with this technique, she decides to dig deeper. Upon further investigation, she discovers that the concept of dousing can be used to communicate with supernatural entities. She identifies the 'tools' that can communicate with the paranormal through extensive research, constant practice, and continuous experimentation. She not only regales readers about her experiences dabbling with these modes of communication in this book, but she also teaches people how to make their own tools and communicate with supernatural entities through them.

I liked the book because the author avoided jargon and used simple language, allowing readers to easily grasp the various concepts discussed in the book. She meticulously explains the mechanics behind each tool and why these tools would work. She also teaches readers how to make such tools and use them effectively to communicate with otherworldly beings. For instance, she has described how to make your own Ouija board and pendulums, which are the most common conduit forms. I used to play a lot with Ouija boards as a kid, and after reading the instructions on how to make your own, I realized I was doing everything wrong. Out of all the tools mentioned by the author, I found pendulums to be the most fascinating. She has taken the time to explain in detail how pendulums work differently for different people. The author has also included the history of the dousing technique, its origins, and its applications in various cultures worldwide.

She also emphasized that a connection cannot be forced or instantaneous. The connectors need to maintain patience and also keep practicing. Also, one must be respectful of the entities they are attempting to communicate with. I especially enjoyed reading about the author's own encounters with the entities, which even had names. She mainly used pendulums to guide the sessions, and after reading about her extraordinary experiences, I wished I had my own guardian angel to guide me through life. She also cautions readers to use a "gold standard" when connecting with the unknown. She emphasizes the importance of doing so because you may encounter an evil entity sometimes, and things could get nasty. The gold standard I'm referring to is something you must discover for yourself, which requires you to read the book.

I found this book to be quite interesting, and because it was short, I was able to finish it in record time. It is also professionally edited as I encountered only two spacing errors. However, I came across a few phrases that perplexed me because they were incorrectly phrased. For instance, "It has the terawatt power major industries need that solar can't - it has best shot at replacing much of the dinosaur juice for the major applications" (Chapter 2, Page 23). Disregarding those phrases, I still enjoyed the book very much. Therefore, I would like to give this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend this book to anyone who, like me, is fascinated by the supernatural and paranormal. The book will also be of interest to those who want to learn about dousing and are keen to know more about the tools mentioned in the book.

Dowsing is an interesting concept. People do it all the time where I live. I just didn't know that it's called dowsing. I look forward to reading this book. Thanks for the wonderful summary :)
