Review of Bitcoin Answered
Bitcoin: Answered A Beginner’s Guide to Everything Bitcoin by Jon Law and Alan John is a comprehensive reference book. The authors explain the basics of Bitcoin in a user-friendly way. Readers will understand more about this complicated subject after reading this book. It is difficult to become an expert on this subject in a short space of time. The book starts with the basics and then introduces more complex topics and terminology. The chapter headings are phrased as questions. The authors begin with a discussion about what Bitcoin is. They move on to topics such as Bitcoin’s history, terminologies such as blockchain, Bitcoin keys, mining, wallets, and market cap. The authors also cover conspiracy theories and speculate on how Bitcoin might act in a recession and question Bitcoin’s future survival.
The questions and answers format is a positive aspect of this book. The questions serve as the framework for this vast topic. They clarify what you need to know. If additional questions arise for readers, they will know in which direction to focus their research. One can re-read a section or jump to certain areas of interest because it is easy to find the information you are looking for. The questions make the book seem more personal because it feels like the reader is asking the authors the questions. I appreciated that there are acronyms, slang, and dictionary pages explaining various terms. The authors have covered the subject very thoroughly. They also supply details of other books, podcasts, and YouTube channels for further information. I also liked the fact that some of the pages had colour illustrations. This brightened up the text, making it more interesting and visually appealing. The tone and style of writing are pleasant and easy to read. The level of complexity is perfect as it is neither too academic nor too simplistic. The authors have succeeded in their aim of enlightening and empowering readers on this complex subject.
I found no negative aspects about this book. It met my expectations. There are no improvements I can think of that might add value to the book.
This book was professionally edited. I did not notice any errors. I enjoyed reading it and learned enough to satisfy my curiosity on the subject. I am happy to give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.
I recommend this book to those who know nothing about Bitcoin and want their most basic questions answered. They will find the book interesting and enjoyable. It contains just the right amount of information so as not to overwhelm a beginner, whilst at the same time providing enough information to answer more in-depth questions. Those who already know a little bit about Bitcoin will find something to broaden their knowledge because of the vast array of subjects that are discussed. This is a useful reference book to have on your bookshelf.
