Review of Disasters To Dreams
The book Disasters to Dreams by Chris Patrick is a life guide help that uses the personal life of the author as a mirror which reflects the possibility of all things as long as the mind believes in its own ability to triumph in the face of adversity. The book centers on the life of a man and how he was able to make something out of a meaningless life. Patrick was born in a somewhat unfortunate home with an abusive father and little or no money to get through life with.
Having suffered a damaged reputation very early in life, He was determined to re-write history and although this took a lot of up’s and down’s and some wins. He wasn’t able to sustain true success and internal satisfaction for long, as every step of the way, came with its own hurdle and a bridge to burn. But with persistence and self believe, Patrick was able to not only achieve all he could envisage but he transferred that knowledge to his wife and life partner Erin and together they built an empire.
The author is an excellent writer as every new chapter of the book was more fascinating than the previous. This is exactly what I love about the book. The book has a “what about you“ section which helps you to reflect on your life’s journey by making you think of some of the unnecessary things that has limited your advancement. This creates a therapeutic effect as every personal reflection sets you free from your own shadow of defeat.
It is a motivational book which is not in any way misleading or geared towards fake excitement but its tone and language tells you the reality of how life can be hard and success too can be hard and it’s all up to you to choose your own hard. Disasters to Dreams gives first hand tips and strategies on how you can better run your business and personal life. Through the journey of the author, I was able to see that failure is always a blessing in disguise and when looked at with a positive view, we would actually appreciate every storm that hits us and be grateful for the best which is yet to come. The place of hard work was not replaced with hypes and excitements but with the life of the author as a living proof, we will understand that hard work is the first inevitable step to success, alongside believes in whatever you pray to.
There is nothing to hate about the book Disasters to Dreams as the author carefully crafted an atmosphere that feels like you are having a conversation with your future. The authors present state of success being a reality that is achievable if you get past your personal fears and limits and dig deep into all you contain and all you can ever be. The need for personal time and self care is also emphasized as we more often than not forget our bodies are the vehicle by which our dreams are run.
I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars because it is not a get rich quick steps to follow kind of book, neither are the events in the life of the author exaggerated or framed to spark excitement, but I was able to see through the careful construction of every turn of event that lasting success in any aspect of an individual’s life truly takes time, patience and dedication to build.
I would recommend this book to any and everyone who is currently going through any hard time in life and is thinking of giving up. Please don’t, because once you’re done reading this book, you will have more than enough reasons to keep chasing your dreams and if you stay consistent You will eventually become everything you ever imagined.
The book was beautifully edited as it was almost impossible to spot an error.
