Through my Minds Eye is a nonfiction book by Reginald Dan, written during the lockdown in 2020 caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a collection of the author’s thoughts and opinions on various topics. The book covers topics like loyalty, dimensions, drive, the power of words, and institutional racism. Through my Minds Eye is a reasonably short book. It contains seven chapters and is only 32 pages long. Therefore, Through my Minds Eye can easily be read in one sitting.

I liked that Through My Minds Eye is not a lengthy book. Given the nature of this book, I feel like the author avoided repetition and increased readability by keeping it short. I also like that the author shared his views and opinions without the book feeling rushed.

I love that Reginald Dan expressed his thoughts and views precisely. I appreciate the lengths to which he tried to explain things. He included stories, scenarios, and insightful quotes from various sources like himself, the Bible, and public figures. These helped elaborate his message and provided a bit of motivation as well. I like that the author shared his own experiences in the book. I was able to relate to his message better because of it.

Unfortunately, I did find something that displeased me while I was reading Through my Minds Eye. I came across a few grammatical errors. Some sentences were not well structured and left me confused. The errors were not massive enough to be distracting, but they are there. I feel like this book could use another round of editing to polish it up a little bit. I would say that it is currently okay, but it could be better.

In summary, I will be giving Through my Minds Eye an overall rating of 3 out of 4 stars. I gave this rating because of how much I like this book. I think readers can find the content inspiring, motivational and enlightening. I deducted a star because of the displeasing errors I encountered while reading. However, that does not mean that this book isn’t a gem.

Through my Minds Eye will be perfect for readers who enjoy nonfiction. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy motivational books as well. I would not recommend this book to readers who prefer fiction. I also do not think this book is suitable for younger readers because the content is for a more mature audience.

If it went through another round of editing, this novel would be perfect. Amazing review!
