We are witnessing the birth of a new way of thinking about money and the exchange of values. Talking about a currency that is completely online and not in physical form raises a lot of questions, and we all know that no one wants to be in doubt about where their money is. Many of those who are immersed in the world of cryptocurrencies maintain that the dollar will become obsolete and that the future lies in these new coins and tokens. If this is correct, then allowing ourselves to postpone learning about the history, concepts, and viability of Bitcoin could be detrimental.

Bitcoin: Answered, A Beginner’s Guide to Everything Bitcoin, by Jon Law and Alan John, seeks to provide didactic answers to all the questions that this new financial trend can generate. The authors begin by explaining who invented Bitcoin, then explain how it works before concluding with some more general questions such as the future performance of the cryptocurrency, how to read financial charts, and how Bitcoin compares to other cryptocurrencies. They answer more than a hundred questions from historical, technical, and conceptual perspectives. So, whether you’re a novice or a pro, this book will have you covered. This simple question-and-answer format helps the reader to understand complicated topics by breaking them down into smaller, more manageable data sets; diagrams and aids also accompany the answers to facilitate the reader’s understanding.

What I liked best about Bitcoin: Answered, A Beginner’s Guide to Everything Bitcoin, was that it was organized in a question-and-answer format rather than a chapter-by-chapter format, which was especially useful because many of the questions listed would never have occurred to me. I appreciate that the authors, Jon Law and Alan John, have recommended related YouTube channels and podcasts, as well as a resource listing at the end of the book, which adds credibility to the factual information.

The only aspect of the work that I did not like was that, although the repetitive explanation was initially beneficial, as the reading progressed, it became somewhat tedious and difficult to follow. This did not reduce the clarity of the information, but it compromised my attention span and focus. Apart from that detail, I must emphasize that the edition was excellent, without important grammatical errors. As a result, I rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend this work to readers interested in cryptocurrencies, as well as anyone who wants to get started with Bitcoin but isn’t sure where to start. I believe cryptocurrencies will become an accepted mainstream topic in the future, so this book can benefit any interested reader as no prior experience is required.
