In a world where men get the credits, women tend to be subdued by the self-centered nature of some men. Cheryl Waiters was able to stand out to make a difference. This book will undoubtedly be worth your time.

Blood, Sweat, and High Heels: A Memoir, written by Cheryl Waiters, with Darnella Ford, began by reflecting on the past events of the '30s. It was a period of suffering. Cheryl Waiters's father was born at that time. Charles Waiters was a man with "Wild Ambition.'' He had gotten married at an early age. Cheryl Waiters told the story of how she had to be molded by the circumstances around her when her father left the house. Cheryl Waiters would struggle to become a successful woman amid the odds following her personal decision to be the smartest in her family at a young age. The book detailed Cheryl Waiters's journey and how she pursued her childhood dreams.

This book was written with utmost sincerity. The information in this book is very accurate and relative. The originality of this content was what impressed me. Cheryl Waiters tells the story from a source. It was relatively an educative and enlightening book. The author made mention of Picasso’s “Guernica,” which was one significant artwork from the '30s. This is undoubtedly one artwork I would love to see. Cheryl could link some events of her life to what was happening. It was fantastic reading a book like this.

This exciting non-fiction book communicates one important factor in the world: "gender difference." Cheryl discussed how male folks were more favored in some parts. This is true. I have tried to probe into this issue over the years, and I realized that my discoveries come in tandem with facts given in this book. It's been one factor that women are still fighting against. Cheryl gave instances where these acts were practiced in the world. Cheryl Waiters shared her story to inspire women. She noted that "women are co-heirs of the Universe," which was one of her articles about the significance of women.

I acknowledge the fact that this book emphasizes past events. However, I think some information included in this book was not relevant. As much as I enjoyed reading Cheryl Waiters's memoir, I think the book was too detailed. That's the only factor I may consider negative in the book. Blood, Sweat, and High Heels: A Memoir by Cheryl Waiters, with Darnella Ford, deserves a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. The book seems professionally edited. I found a few errors while reading. I would love to recommend this book to women fighting to become exceptional in a man's world. If you enjoy reading memoirs, then this book is for you.

Cheryl is such an amazing character who stood out for societal norms and biased treatments. Thanks for the review.

Wow! Blood, Wheels, High Heels: A Memoir is a good book. I can imagine how it feels to grow without a father by your side especially for girl child. One has to learn to handle emotional trauma and mental stress, Cheryl Waiters brings out realities of life. Nevertheless, when one becomes determined to make it out of the bad situation others tend to learn something good.

I think if someone is going to write about being a woman in a man's world, it is legitimate and smart to begin by reflecting on earlier decades and following the subject through experiences over the years.

This is great review. The storyline is inspiring and I understand what it means to be raised without a father.

This is an inspiration for women to fight against the world. And i think when it comes to the topic of women being in men's world it's better to start with past events and follow with experiences.
