The world is losing a big chunk of its population to Cancer. In 2018, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) recorded nearly 17 million cases, with over 9.5 million cancer deaths. Despite the massive funding for Cancer research, these shocking numbers are rapidly increasing. Cancer treatment is costly, significantly contributing to the growing number of cases since only financially stable individuals benefit. Mirko Beljanski had the resolution to curb this disease. However, he faced a lot of scrutiny from more prominent pharmaceutical companies and the government.

Winning the War on Cancer: The Epic Journey Towards a Natural Cure by Sylvie Beljanski is an informed book about Cancer and Cancer awareness. Sylvie dedicated her life to making her father's research known worldwide after establishing The Beljanski Foundation. The book is divided into two parts, with the first part dedicated to the lifelong research life of Mirko Beljanski. The latter part encompasses the author's personal life in the quest to create awareness of her father's work. Mirko invented alternative pills to kill cancerous cells without affecting healthy cells. The drug was made from a mixture of two extracts of Pao Pereira and Rauwolfia Vomitoria, and it worked efficiently in ovarian and pancreatic cancer treatments. This pill was one of the many essential pieces of information I acquired from the book. I salute the author for keeping me engaged in gaining the necessary knowledge on Cancer. I can admit that I didn't know much about this disease and the relevant developments that have been achieved until I read this book.

I loved that Sylvie Beljanski presented complex scientific data in simple language, which is a colossal score considering she is not a native English speaker. The facts outlined in the book are well researched to give eye-opening information on cancer treatments using both the traditional primary methods and alternative modern treatment techniques. Surprisingly, the book's title captured my attention, and I instantly embarked on a sporadic read. Sylvie captured a diverse audience with how she made the book a comfortable read. From simple narration to integrating her personal life, I can concur she has mastered the art of delivery. She sheds light on government interference and unjust practices. I applauded her strategic approach to emphasizing this knowledge by incorporating images. She also introduces chapters with quotes, which makes the reader more engaged.

I enjoyed reading this book for the insightful thoughts it provoked in me. There's nothing I disliked about the book. I, therefore, give this book a rating of four out of four stars. In addition, this book was exceptionally well-edited as I didn't encounter any grammatical errors.

Winning the War on Cancer: The Epic Journey Towards a Natural Cure would be a recommendable book to people seeking awareness of this disease. Similarly, it would offer much-needed information to people living with Cancer. It is everybody's responsibility to join the fight against Cancer since statistics show that one in every three people is likely to suffer from Cancer.
