The Altitude Journals by David J. Mauro are the author's memoirs. David Mauro is a financial planner who came from a broken home. His mother remarried Jack, a general contractor who takes very good care of him. Mauro graduated from school, got married to Jenny, and had their first son, Trevor. He enjoys a happy family life together with his wife. However, things took a new turn as the enemy that haunts his father's marriage came to haunt his own.

Mauro divorced his wife and moved to his sister Noelle's house. His sister's husband, Ty, invited him to join a team of mountain climbers. The invitation brought a new change in his life, as it eased the divorce pain and also led him humbly onto a new career path. He honourably embraces his new career path by joining Ty and other team members to climb the mountain, Denali. Following this journey, he climbs other notable mountains such as Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, Elbrus, Vinson Massif, and others. On returning from his first mountain, he felt bored and lonely. He met Dave Lyon, a friend who introduced him to his wife, Shelly. This encourages Mauro to give love a second chance. Will Mauro ever find love again? To find out, I encourage you to read this great book.

There are so many positive aspects to this story. The writer has made an excellent presentation of his ideas and experience for readers to benefit from. I enjoy the use of simple language to portray his ideas in the book. One thing I admire most about this book was the writer's constant and consistent sense of preparation before embarking on a certain journey. This action gives him a certainty of success that I believe readers can emulate. I also like the fact that he shares beneficial information about online dating. It is an uncommon tip that I found helpful. Another wonderful thing about the book was that it gave extensive details about mountain climbing. This added bountifully to my wealth of knowledge.

I also enjoy the writer's emphasis on unity in achieving success in life. The writer makes use of some self-motivating words that appeal to me, like "we can come to believe in ourselves when we deal with our problems, not by climbing mountains." The statement motivates me to make rational decisions regarding my problems. This book has been a wonderful book for me. I enjoy every detail of it. The writer would have been guilty without sharing his life experience for people to read and benefit from.

There was nothing I disliked about the book. I enjoyed every detail of it. The book is exceptionally edited as I did not find any notable errors. Given this, I rate The Altitude Journals by David J. Mauro  4 out of 4 stars. This book gets an excellent rating because of the above positive points. I recommend the book to lovers of stories about popular mountains in the world and people who need a fresh start after a certain life disappointment.
