Review of My Incredible Life's Journey
My Incredible Life’s Journey by Dr. Margaret P. Price is an autobiography that shows the journey of an amazing woman who originates from a small Island named Tobago. The book tells the story of how she rose to the top in her professional and spiritual life. She starts the book by showing gratitude to her family, who laid the foundation for who she has become. She is a young black girl who moved to the western world to chase her dreams without giving a thought to whatever challenges may be ahead of her. Join Dr. Price as she takes you through her inspiring life journey on how her decision to serve others changed her life forever.
This book is an exceptional read. It will leave an impact on anyone who decides to read it. It can be seen as a guide for every young person embarking on their life's journey. I really learnt a lot from this book. I am an 18-year-old girl still trying to come to terms with the challenges of adulthood. Sometimes, I feel like some things can’t be achieved in life, and I probably should give up. However, reading this book countered those thoughts of mine, and I now believe that I can achieve far beyond what I ever thought or imagined was possible. I also loved the fact that the author was able to combine the professional, spiritual, and social parts of her life in this story. The reader would get a glimpse of virtually all facets of her life from this book.
One of the lessons I took from this book was that if things don’t work out for one, it’s God's way of saying “No or Not yet.” Growing up, I was made to believe that black people couldn't achieve so much in life because they would forever be subservient to white people. Dr. Price's story made me realize that we can do whatever we put our minds to, and nothing can limit us from achieving greatness except ourselves. Despite being faced with racial discrimination at some point, she smiled all through and conquered. Another lesson I picked from this book was that there is a greater reward for us when we serve others selflessly and not just ourselves. Dr. Price did that throughout her journey, and this left an impact on a lot of people in her life. Her selfless character is really admirable and is worthy of emulation. She is a great role model to women, especially black women. I must also commend the team of editors; they did an incredible job.
There is honestly nothing to dislike about the incredible journey of such a great woman. I loved everything about Dr. Margaret P. Price's My Incredible Life’s Journey. She impacted my life through the pages of this book.
Due to the reasons I gave in the second and third paragraphs of this review, I think it’s fair to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was exceptionally well edited. I couldn't pick out any error from it.
I recommend this book to every young person who has decided to embark on their life's journey. This should be a perfect guide for them. The book will also be a great read for all lovers of autobiography.
