Don’t Mind Me, I’m Just Having a Bad Life by Lewis Kempfer is a memoir in which the author recounts the several situations that made his life terrible.

I think the most traumatic thing that can happen to a child is having to grow up in an abusive home. The author wrote this memoir with the aim of disclosing all the trauma he had to face right from when he was little. Dennis, the author's father, was quite abusive, and he had put the author through duress that no child should ever have to face. The lack of fatherly love had pushed the author right into the arms of strangers and people who had shown the tiniest bit of kindness towards him.

This memoir was written with great care and intentionality. The author was meticulous in writing, and I felt every emotion there was to feel while reading. The author had a way of making me cackle even when he was describing a sad event. I have to commend the author for his unique sense of humor.

The dark humor in this book was a bit excessive, but I did not have a problem with it because I’m also a fan of dark humor. The book was written in the proper format for a good memoir. The title of the book was the first thing to draw my attention to this book. I also noticed a sense of play when it came to the book’s cover.

I’ve read so many memoirs in the past, but this is the best and most unique one yet. The book was filled with suspense and drama, making it difficult to stop reading till I was done. The book also indulged important themes like sexuality, domestic abuse, drug abuse, and parental misconduct.

The author recounts the several cringe-worthy mistakes he had made. The connection I felt with this book was really strong. Reading the memoir had felt like I was reading a novel. I was very intrigued by the way there was always something interesting going on in the book.

There was nothing to dislike about this book. It was written with a lot of effort, and I could feel the author’s enthusiasm. The book was also exceptionally edited as I did not find any error in it. The book was also enjoyable for me.

This book deserves a rating of four out of four stars because it was exceptionally edited. I also enjoyed reading this book because it was filled with suspense and drama. I would recommend this book to young adults that like dark humor. This book should also be read by father figures because it contains a lot of lessons for them.
