Review of Seeking... Finding... Healing...
According to Socrates the philosopher, an unexamined life is not worth living. There comes a time in a person's life when one needs to pause, examine their life, and retrace their steps. Examination is a basic tool a person needs to start off healing from an undesirable past. This is the process that initiated Becky Lu's positive change towards life. The result is a more productive life and the birth of the book: seeking... finding... Healing...
Seeking... Finding... Healing is a non-fiction self-help book written by Becky Lu Jackson. In the book, she shared guidelines on how to get what she called "family healing" through visualization. In the visualization, she was able to build a network of her "selves." These consisted of her past stages and ages in life. After the network was created, she did her best to become a better "parent" by assuring them of her commitment to piloting a better self. The author believed that making an intricate connection with one's younger selves and starting healing from there/them, it would allow a person to be free of the things that had been holding them back and suffocating their chances of becoming a better person. This process, along with spiritual connection to God, will bring about true family healing. That way, a person can be useful to himself/herself before impacting on the lives of others.
Before reading this book, I thought that to become a better person, one needed to forget about the ugly past and move on. I never imagined that the past and past selves needed to be addressed and participate in the healing process. Who would have thought that one's previous self could give feedback and make possible contributions to their self-healing? How is it possible? The answers are all in the book. My findings and personal experience are amazing. I can now confront my addictions and deal with them head on. I now know how to use my memories for positive recreation.
I liked the fact that the author shared her own experiences and the guidelines on medication exercise were written in simple terms. This made it very easy to comply with. One can easily relate to the issues discussed in the book, and it is easy to create a vivid imagination. I am glad to give the book a star rating of 4 out of 4 stars because I think the book was professionally edited as I found no errors.
I would recommend this book to people with traumatic experiences or addictions who are in dire need of self-healing. Those who like meditation will like the book.
