Review of Seeing with Fresh Eyes
[Following is a volunteer review of "Seeing with Fresh Eyes" by John W. Bullock.]
Seeing with fresh eyes is an awekening and innovative Christian book by John W. Bullock. At the start, at the lecture of the foreword, one can mistake it to be a full self development creation; since the author’s launch approach is made through an established differenciation between the verbs to see and to look. Two synonymous verbs that are major part of this scheme of disenchantment. Two verbs too often inappropriately used daily. Bullock invites us to a self examination and to let go the “old us” by the deconstruction of the holy bible seen as a dogma and the christianism as that religion of unintelligible questionnings and responses to a life-guiding book awaiting for each heart’s eyes to see by themselves and not by all what is said or settled in the world for the first and the christianism as how it really is: a sincere relationship with God the creator with its creature.
Seeing with Fresh eyes, is for sure a book that I will never forget. It has really been intriguing and somehow tough for me to embody how Bullock a scientist has got to make a synthesis between his scientific heart in other words ,his analyzing skills that are part of his intelligence and that given wisdom only handed by the holy spirit himself. Within the book from the shelling of the ancient to the new testament through each phrase, each punctuation mark it is proved that This time science is no more defying God nor the nature, rather it is submissive to the universe and its laws. Bullock left the old him made of what he had been taught to be overfloaded by the wisdom of the holy Spirit taken from the Son JC who took it himself from the almighty father “elohim”.
In Seeing with fresh eyes Bullock subtlely discussed about important themes such as the place of the woman in the world derived from her implication in the Eden Garden curse , the man’s bearing to control. Bullock Seeing no more looking at the bible, at God’s words written in our lives is the key power of his book. For exemple, the book revisits the popular story of Eve the seductress and mother of calamity, plunging the entire humanity in distress. This time the real culpable has been discovered and it is no more Eve. If you only want to know who is guilty of the first ever and major drama of History you must read Seeing with fresh eyes of John W. bullock.
Since it is a book written to unveil the actual face of the being named “God” while giving explanations and detailed analyses of the role of the divine Jesus Christ to the humanity, as for me this book is essentially for readers who are found of Christian books and alike those who by mere curiosity have always wondered about who were that two beings said to be two but living within each other and what exactly goes and went around the crucification of someone for our lives to be redeemed and saved. It can be a good book to lean on for everyone feeling depressive, empty and in search of answers even without knowing the questions to it.
Still, at some moments I have found myself bored by the redundance of some explanations. Fortunately , for a religious book, the reading was after all light and digestible even for those who are unfamiliar to the bible. There wasn’t any typographic flaw. Consequently, this book fully deserves a rate of 4 out of 4. Impeccable! Nothing else to say.
