One experience can change a person’s life forever. The protagonist experienced many of these life-changing encounters. Don't Mind Me, I'm Just Having A Bad Life is a nonfiction novel written by Lewis Kempfer about his own life. The book features exposure, adventure, abuse, childhood, and the life process.

Young Lewis Kempfer grew up moving from one place to another due to the frequent changes in his father figure. As a young boy, he and his mother would usually go to church, and Lewis had to try hard to understand. Lacking adequate parental care and love, Lewis became exposed and accustomed to things he should not have known at such a young age. They turned into habits and sometimes a means of psychological release. Lewis kept getting deeper into this. Who will bring him out? Will Lewis ever see any light again? Read this book to find out.

If you are someone that detests or cannot stand sexual immorality, foul language, or social vices, I advise that you take a bow out because the book contains lots of them. The author had a rather rough life while growing up, and circumstances gave him early exposure to things. However, you could also read the book to learn from it. The book's target audience is the LGBT community because the author was once one of them. The author was a victim of a broken home, which affected his life. Growing up, he faced abuse physically, sexually, and emotionally. Even his mother went through all this. The author was born to a Christian mother and went to church as a boy. However, the encounters with his father affected his belief in God as a spiritual father.

I loved how the author narrated the story. The author told the story to evoke sympathy and feelings from the readers. He made his story intriguing. The author explores the issues, especially at the family level, such as lack of quality parenting, domestic violence, sexual abuse, alcoholism, sexual immorality, HIV/AIDS, and drug abuse. The book contained Bible verses, hymns, and Bible quotations. The book also includes some Spanish sentences that I learned, and the language was simple to understand.

There was nothing to dislike about this book. I must commend the author for a job well done. I love that he was bold enough to tell his story and put it out for the world to see and learn from it. It shows true repentance. It was touching how he turned to God in his moment of crisis. The moments with his dog were touching. The book was also exceptionally well-edited, as I found no errors when reading. The book is a memoir, which the author used to create awareness of the dangers of some practices.

I rate this book four out of four stars for the above positive reasons. I recommend this book to its target audience, the LGBT community, especially those up for a positive change. The story will inspire readers to keep away from social vices.
