The First Time Father by Alfie Thomas is a book that simplifies the do’s and don’t of an expectant father or a first time dad when dealing with pregnancy. As much as the title says the book is for fathers, nothing prevents an expectant mother or adults from reading this book.

The Author is a father of three, lecturer and a software engineer who believes in inspiring others and providing useful information on how to support your partner and work as a team throughout the journey of pregnancy. This book contains three part and fifteen chapters that provides quality education to expectant fathers.

Some of the positive point about this book is that the book helps to build a father-child relationship. It gives in-depth details on how to support your partner throughout pregnancy so that you can have an enjoyable time. The book talks about the basic things you need to know about pregnancy. For example, birth positions, type of foods and supplements that an expectant mother needs, how the baby forms during the three trimesters of pregnancy, giving a detailed breakdown of what happens in each trimester taking into consideration the baby length, weight and organ development. This book gives new dads opportunity to learn more about pregnancy and prepare them mentally about pregnancy. It teaches expectant fathers how to sit up and plan for fatherhood and also how to make smart financial decisions in other to minimize mistakes and raise the kids well.

The First Time Father is a backbone that all expectant families need to help improve the home and everyday life. It is very educational and provides great help to expectant fathers guiding them on how to be supportive, bond more with their partners, getting active in more hobbies and interests, have in depth conversation about parenting, how to connect physically with your partner and baby, how to prepare for labor down to childbirth down to the growth and nurturing of your child.

Not much negative point to talk about. The errors were so few and very few profane words

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because the book is very educational and helpful. It inspires you to become a better person, a better father and raise better kids. This book is professionally edited. I recommend it not only for expectant fathers but also for expectant mothers and for adults who will eventually get to that stage. The book is easy to understand and provide quality knowledge.
