Whether you are a first time user, seasoned professional or merely curious, I guarantee this book has something for you. I found this book to provide a unbiased, comprehensive guide to cannabis which was educational and well informed. Marijuana Martinis covers every topic you can imagine; from the how to’s to recipes, so you can enjoy your high.

I enjoyed the journey of this book, how Liv Hamrick took me through the history of cannabis, right up to the modern day in which smoking is much more normalised. There are lots of topics included in this book, however it manages not to feel rushed, nor does it overwhelm you with information, it is paced very well and the information is all key and straight to the point. Not only does this book inform us of the history of cannabis it also has lots of advice for safe consumption and even includes recipes for new ways to achieve your high. A key element that I enjoyed about this book is that it provided a balanced viewpoint regarding any potential side affects to consuming this plant. Whilst the book is in favour of the drug it also ensures that the readers are educated about any possible negative side effects that could be experienced.

I don’t know that I could suggest any negatives or fall backs that this book might have, I found it to be a well written and informative non-fiction book. I am not usually a fan of non-fiction however, I thoroughly enjoyed this history and guide to cannabis consumption.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is just starting to experiment with the substance as it gives lots of detail on the ‘how to’s’ of smoking which will ensure you have the best experience possible. Having said that, I do think that this book can be enjoyed by anyone who has an interest in the topic, even if you are not a smoker yourself, as it is highly interesting, and as I mentioned earlier also educational.

I rated this book 4 out of 4 stars as I found it to provide an interesting insight into cannabis whilst also being tasteful and educational. I would only recommend this book for mature audiences due to the content and general topic that is being discussed. I definitely think that if you have an interest in this subject there will be something for you in this book.
