Beyond Want is a book brimming with engaging words that provoke deep philosophical thoughts. It entails the entire concept of "a sound body in a sound mind."

Beyond Want is a self-help book on self-discovery; it focuses on healing the mind and seeking fulfillment by placing the mind to reason beyond human wants and life's problems. It also consists of practical questions to be asked for evaluation by oneself and different meditations to help in one's journey of self-fulfillment.

I gave this book my undivided attention because it was a self-help book written to instruct the reader on solving personal problems. However, this book would demand deeper thinking and reasoning from the reader. It took me minutes to comprehend a complete sentence during my reading, as most concepts were very philosophical. Though abstract, I found Beyond Want reasonably practical. It was embellished with basic meditation exercises the reader could practice anywhere and anytime. It also had questions that would reveal some hidden parts of the reader's inner self. As I read along, I noticed the writer's subtleness. I wouldn't say I found this book boring except for the few times I couldn't grasp the entire picture of a point made by the author due to complexities or unfamiliarity with such concepts.

The author showcased his fundamental belief in philosophical statements and his Christian faith through this book. Famous quotes were present in most chapters, and they were helpful. Also, a few Bible verses were cited to bolster some of the author's points. In this book, Dr. Ronnie Hale opted for a basic word delivery, as most of his word constructs were in simple grammar. He also stated and made clear his primary purpose and objective, and he delivered brilliant points conveyed to the readers with utmost clarity.

Dr. Ronnie Hale also did an excellent job presenting an overview at the beginning of the book, clarifying what topics would be discussed in the different chapters. He also summarized each chapter and pointed out the key takeaways. The writer provided many exciting suggestions and thoughts on different aspects of the human mind, including metaphysical concepts. The recommendations on similar books to read were commendable. However, I noticed that the author didn't properly reference the sources of some information he presented. If this book is revised (I highly recommend it), the author should pay attention to proper referencing.

The editing of this book was a significant blemish. I encountered several errors. Therefore, I'd give Beyond Want a rating of 3 out of 4 stars. I wouldn't necessarily call this a motivational book. However, I would recommend it to every mature reader looking for a guide and tool to better themselves and others around them.

I don't think I'll enjoy a book with philosophical and not clear writings. I'm not a fan of self-help books, and even less a fan of one that chooses to attach too deep meanings to simple concepts. You've written a great review regardless.

A book about healing is always precious. From the review, it also seems the book is philosophical, which is something I like. Thanks for the review.
