The First Time Father: The Expectant Survival Guide For First-Time Dads Through Pregnancy Journey by Alfie Thomas is a guide book for those soon-to-be fathers. The book is divided into three parts. The first part talks more on the preparation of the upcoming baby. The second part talks more about how to handle the first born child and the third part talks about some rules on how to enhance a child's performance. Every chapter has a corresponding picture which add a glimpse of the topic discussed, and it accompanied with a saying. The book was written in a chronological order.

One of the best aspects of the book I liked is it is very understandable due to the use of plain English which made comprehensible to the average reader. The author offers step by step process in guiding first time fathers with their pregnancy journey. The book taught that it is not only the pregnant woman who needs to prepare; it is both partners which means "we're pregnant". I also learned new words like "couvade syndrome" while reading this book. The book is exceptionally written and exceptionally edited because out of my reading journey, I only came across two typographical errors. Besides, there's no grammatical errors in it.

I did not encounter anything I did not like in the book. The format is good, and the topics are well-organized until the end consequently, adding a smooth flow of the book. It was entirely educative read.

Due to my level of appreciation of the book, I would give the highest rating for The First Time Father 4 out of 4 stars . I did not deduct any points because nothing distracted me from understanding the essential parts of the guide book.

As a result, I recommend the book first and foremost to fathers-to-be who want to be hands on to their first born child. The book is very helpful for them to be prepared for their new role in the family. Aside from that, the content of the book is not limited only for upcoming fathers but it's also good for upcoming mothers which they can learn tips to nurse the baby for the first time. Definitely, the book would make an amazing read for those recommended people above. Grab the book if you want to be the most prepared father or mother for your first child.

This review does a great job showing how helpful the book is for new dads. I like how the reviewer points out that both parents should be prepared, not just the mom. It sounds like a really informative and well-organized book for any man starting a family.
