A Dream for Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a great inspirational, motivational, historical, political, and informational book by a doctor, scientist, diplomat, ambassador, freedom fighter, activist, and advocate for peace. It's a story of the man who didn't let the circumstances whether good or bad steer his life, but achieved several feats in such diverse fields one can barely imagine for, like being the first to propose a hypothesis on 'Reverse Transcriptase Enzyme, an enzyme of retroviruses used to make DNA from RNA', being a freedom fighter for Algeria, being a diplomat to initiate dialogue between Palestine and Israel, being a Special Advisor of the Ivorian President Houphouët-Boigny etc.

Born in an African French colony, Algeria, Dr. Berrah was raised by a single parent, having a yearning for independence triggered by several factors including racism, poverty, and maltreatment. The struggle for peace and freedom continued throughout his life from high school to French university, from making the union of North African Muslim students to playing an important role in the initiation of dialogue between countries. He studied medicine and even practiced for about 2 years, but his real abilities were to be invested in the dream for peace. The dream which became a purpose for which he happily embraced hardships, even the jail and separations of the people dearest to him.

I loved reading the book and I must say the secrets it contains, the harmony of religion it teaches, the inspiration it provokes and the information it imparts, enthralled me. The author also provided enough pictures to create eidetic memory of the events the reader is reading and the arrangement of chapters along with the timeline of events unfolding is also commendable.

Overall, the memoir is perfectly put down and professionally edited. I could not find any mistake or error in it. It grasps the readers' attention till the end and never makes him feel bored. I could not find anything negative to say about it. Therefore, I'm rating this book 4 out of 4 stars.

The book is recommended generally for all non-fiction lover audience. However, specifying the audience, it's a great piece of writing for those interested in history, politics, aftermath of colonialism and those finding an inspiration for life.
