Care Sharing & Care Homes for Our Loved Ones by David Geraghty is a nonfiction book in the health genre. The book talks about care homes and clears some misconceptions about staying at one. The author gives first-hand knowledge and information about care homes. The author describes the way he got into a care home. The author describes the experiences he had at the care homes that he has been in.
The book had positives. Firstly, the book was enlightening about many topics. The experiences and activities that happen in care homes were described. The author tells the experiences he had while at the care home. This information helps in clearing some assumptions that people have about being in a care home. The author also describes the traits that a person in a care home should have, such as hope and a goal. The book is enlightening about the factors which a person should consider before choosing a care home. These traits are really useful as they help in nurturing the person in the care home. Secondly, the book is appreciative of the deeds done by people who work in care homes. The author describes the different jobs they do to keep the care home working and how some of them go above and beyond to help.
The book also had negatives. Firstly, some things in the book were over-repeated. Though this might be used to emphasize the importance, it did not seem so. It was somewhat annoying to see them over again. Secondly, some of the words used in the book were complicated. Although some of the words were medical terms, the author could have explained them in the book.
I rate the book four out of four stars. Although they were some negatives in the book, it was not enough to reduce the quality of the book. The author shared information that will help greatly in choosing care homes and how we act towards them. It was enlightening about the etiquette that people should have while they are at a care home. The author describes the etiquette and also describes what should not be done. The book was professionally edited.
I recommend the book to individuals who need a care home as the author lists out factors which can help in choosing a care home. The author also lists out etiquette that a person should have in the care homes. I recommend the book to family members and friends of people in care homes. The author explains the things that should be done and should not be done when visiting a friend or family member in a care home. Also, the author explains ways that people should complain about problems they find. The book is also recommended to people who are in care homes. The book outlined ways which can help persons in care homes have a better experience during their stay. The book is recommended to individuals who work at care homes. The author praises and gives thanks to the work that is done by them to make care homes comfortable.
