Review of When No One Else Believed
When No One Else Believed is an amazing story of faith and miracles. The author of this novel, Ron Tripodo, has written in first-person the account of his wife's healing. Patsy, his wife, had contracted HSE. HSE is herpes simplex encephalitis. She was in a coma for weeks. The doctors said that her case was very severe and they only gave her a 10% chance of survival. As she is put on life support, Ron hears God speaking and telling him that He will heal her. As the story unfolds there are many struggles. Ron is trying to keep his business going while visiting and making decisions for his wife. He enlists the help of a dear friend, Linda. At the time Ron hears God saying that He will heal Patsy, Ron gets a call from his car dealer. He has purchased a new car for his wife every year or two. Ron goes ahead and tells the salesman to order a new car for Patsy. This begins his journey of faith and believing his wife would be healed. Does Patsy get healed? Will her quality of life be worth all the work she has to go through?
I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this tale. As a Christian, I believe in miracles and found this story completely believable. I do not feel that those who do not believe in God would be offended. The author does not continually push his beliefs on the reader. Through his recollection of this very trying time, we can see how important his faith was. He also brings into focus how important it is to have a supportive community of friends.
There was not one thing I disliked in When No One Else Believe. The book was edited professionally, as seen by the lack of errors. There was no mention of sex or any inappropriate language.
I rate this amazing novel four out of four stars. The storyline was very easy to follow. It was well-written and professionally edited. I found his story to be told in such an interesting manner that I was immediately invested into the characters. When I had finished reading this book, I felt remarkably hopeful. It was a very uplifting account of a difficult time in the author's life.
This novel would be appropriate for all age groups to read. The message in this tale is one faith and hope. I believe anyone who reads this book will be filled with hope and feel good. The entire chronicle of Patsy's illness shows the resilience of the human spirit.
