Idiom Attack 1: Everyday Living ( Trad. Chinese Edition) by Peter N. Liptak, Matthew Douma, and Jay Douma is a three-step process first volume book so that a person can get used to and learn about idioms used by native speakers of the English language.

The book starts with an explanation of the meaning of an idiom and its importance for non-native speakers so that they can better understand and communicate in English. The book has 25 chapters, each with a specific theme. Each chapter is created in such a way that it goes through all the important key points necessary so that the reader can comprehend and learn. Also, the book, besides the English version of its content, offers a Chinese version as well. The three steps that are presented in the book are: to learn the meaning of the idiom; to confirm the use of the idiom with a fill-in-the-blank section; and to practice the use of the idiom you just learned by reading each story provided by the authors. Each chapter is composed of idiom examples as per a specific situation, each being defined and included in a phrase, followed by a fill-in-the-blank section with those idioms, and then followed by a story that includes and uses all the idioms in that chapter. The book also has crossword puzzles.

I had a really fun time reading this book. One of the many things that I liked about it was how the idiom was exemplified by the authors, which made it so easy and fun to understand and learn. For example, the idiom "old flame" was used in a proper sentence, a definition was given, and several synonyms were listed. After reading about each idiom, I could easily understand and learn its meaning and purpose. Another aspect that I like about the book is the fill-in-the-blank pages, which made me interact with the book, not just read it. Also, the crossword puzzles were very entertaining and mentally stimulating.

There are no negative aspects that I can think of or find in the book. The authors did an amazing job by providing and merging challenging content for non-native speakers of the English language into a simple, easy, comprehensible, and interactive form.

Until the end of the book, I noticed that it was exceptionally well-edited. Together with the very well-done work put in by the authors in providing this educative content and the joy and interest that I felt while reading, I give this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to any non-native English speaker, student, traveler, or curious person who wants to learn or polish their knowledge of American idioms quickly and easily.
