The American dream is a dream everyone wants to live. We want to live the American dream. This inclination brings about the question of what the American dream is. The United States of America is regarded as a country that practices and protects democracy. The freedom associated with democratic rule is what constitutes the American dream and therefore is the desire of many. However, with the insurrection on Capitol Hill on the 21st of January 2021, most are bewildered by American democracy. The book, From Whence We Came, by Juliette Adams, is a book that brings to light a political conversation between Dux and Discipulus on political awareness and education. Dux explains to Discipulus the political structure of democracy and how the electorate has the power to shape and empower democracy. Though satirical, the book brings to light important key elements that the average American electorate needs to be aware of.

The book has lots of information and details. I was surprised to discover that some American congressmen have been in Congress for more than forty-six years. The presentation of researched facts aimed at educating the reader is really commendable. The book is satirical, and the author reaffirmed her commitment to making it easily digestible. The names used are Latin, and the author ensured to clarify the meaning of the names and why they've been used in the book. Such a level of detail and explanation only makes the book reader-friendly, and I love it. There are key elements of democracy. The author discusses the rule of law, the judiciary, the legislative branch, and the executive branch. The arms of the government and their roles were explained by the author in a way that is easily understandable. The effects of the constitution and the role it plays were also well elaborated and I loved them. The author ensured the book is informative.

I feel the author did a good job. Although at some point, the book became a bit statistical. However, the author made her point.

The book is handy and easy to read. One can finish the book in one go. More importantly, it hopes to provide the American electorate with a powerful sensitization to America's political structure. It also emphasizes the need for political involvement. The book is also exceptionally well edited, and the rules of traditional writing were adhered to. Relatively, I rate this book 4 out of 4. The book is a great choice for political awareness and education.

I recommend this book to American electorates and individuals interested or involved in political education and campaigns. The book will help the reader develop the right mindset towards political activities.

The book review is awesome, the book is trying to put light on what happens in politics in America but it applies to politics around the world, people aspiring to go into politics should read this book to be able to learn more about politics, I would read this book and recommend it to people that love things about politics and the fact that the author took time to narrate and explain well is awesome

The subtitle captured my attention: I don't think I have ever considered a political conversation to be fun. It sounds like the author's use of satire makes the read lighter. Thank you for your thorough review. Based on your recommendation, I may consider adding this book to my list.
