Review of A Dream For Peace
In this autobiography, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah tells his own story while describing the circumstances in Algeria under French colonialism. He organized a squad of revolutionaries that assisted in freeing his nation from the control of its colonial masters as a result of the atrocities his people had to endure. The book also discusses how third-world nations fared in the post-colonial system. The reader will discover how difficult it was for the developing nation to gain independence. Although these battles were unpleasant, they were worthwhile since they allowed Africans to free their countries from colonial control.
When a country is ruled by individuals with self-serving goals, it may seem disconcerting. You may think of your homeland as a prison or jail. This and other subjects are mentioned in Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's book A Dream For Peace.
I admire the author's traits as he grew from a child to an adult. These characteristics enabled him to excel as a politician, a skilled doctor, and an excellent revolutionary ambassador. I love how the author offered readers a brief overview of his family, including information about his connection with his stepbrother and his mother. This feature aids in the reader's understanding of the author. He also proved to be a brilliant visionary with enormous promise for the next generation. The book's authenticity is aided by the black and white images that are depicted in it. You will concur that Africa did not have very advanced technology before, during, or shortly after colonialism. Consequently, choosing to use black and white images in the book captures the era in which the events described in the book occurred.
The story is told in a conversational tone and is written in a descriptive style. I adore how comfortable the author was while recounting all the events. While reading the novel, I was able to sense some of the author's feelings. The story didn't feel forced because of his calm and comfortable demeanor. The editing of the book is excellent. No grammatical mistakes were noticeable to me. When reading the novel, I didn't find any erotic material. In this book, the author preferred to keep it pure and have his work displayed without the use of profanity when most authors would want to add profane language to show enthusiasm or wrath. There is much to be learned about Africans and their fight for freedom. The book probably ought to be used as a reference in history lectures. The book's subject didn't bother me, and I loved reading it. In light of this, I give the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.
I encourage individuals who appreciate reading memoirs and works that depict historical events to pick up the book. Please avoid reading the book if you're seeking a memoir book with no political or colonialism-related themes. This book is open to readers of all religious backgrounds.
