Vegan Books or those against animal slaughter?

Anyone interested in these? Or books which are against mass animal slaughter?
I found 'Making a Killing' by Bob Torres to be one of the most interesting I've read.
It describes how animals are a commodity in today's world, just like other items such as shoes, handbags, houses, cars.
A very interesting way of seeing things.
Any other books you've read?
I've read so many but I'd like more to read.
NB. I am not vegan myself, but find the subject v interesting and have been studying it at masters level

I'm vegan but most of the vegan books I read are cookbooks.
Although, I found one very interesting called Vegan Myth, Vegan Truth by John McCabe. He lays on the book the facts about dairy/meat industry and endorses it with real data from scientific researches and economical ones when needed.
There's also the China Study and others I can't remember. But these are a good base if you want to get started.

If I read any of these, I would probably be too scared to eat anything.... I'm definitely one of those "ignorance is bliss" kind of people.

Why scared?
Anyway most people's diet is 60% vegan already, so I don't know what scares people the most.
I think almost everyone in a civilized country is able to afford rice, vegetables, grains, seeds, I don't see what's complicated about it.
If I live in a third world country and I managed to have a strict vegetarian diet, I think basically everyone else can (unless you really live in a tiny village in the middle of a jungle, and even then... who knows).
I stumbled on a couple more books:
Ethics Into Action: Henry Spira and the Animal Rights Movement by Peter Singer
The Accidental Activist by Matt Ball
Meat Market: Animals, Ethics, and Money by Erik Marcus
Here's a vegan burger for you all:
And vegan cupcakes so you don't say I'm not your friend:

They're scared of not being able to partake of "Mystery-Meat-Macdonalds " and be subjected to only REAL FOOD......

Diet for a New America (by John Robbins) is a great book about the benefits of veganism. I read it about 20 years ago, so I don't remember it well. However, I do remember it mentions studies which make it clear that consuming a lot of protein is harmful, and studies that make it clear that your bones are not strengthened by consuming milk products. So aside from the moral issues of consuming slaughtered animals, there are plenty of good reasons to stick to a vegan diet.

Eating Animals by Jonathan Foer is a great read - very entertaining and also informative from a historical perspective. Another great read is Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows (by Melanie Joy). She coins the term 'carnism' to explain why we eat certain animals but not others, comparing it to sexism, racism, etc. Really eye opening read.

Great info, thanks.
I've watched a lot of documentaries and read a ton of articles, I already know all these things back and forth, but I will still save these books to read them someday

Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food." (Genesis 1:29, New International Version.)
