Smart Love by Vincent Fudge II is a self-help book that describes the author's approach to solving marriage problems.

The writer, Edward, is married to his wife, Ebony, and has two children, Elizabeth and Elijah. Their married life did not start well. Edward felt that his wife was not the right person for him. He has also committed domestic violence. He finally had a taste of imprisonment and from there, he realized that he had to do better with his life. He finally made a plan called SMART Love. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound goals. From this plan, he outlined many points, one of which was the point why he had to leave his wife.

One thing I like most about this book is the one point that stands out the most from the author's epilogue. The point is: “Getting married is easy. Staying married is hard, and staying happily married is damn near impossible, especially if you do not marry the right person for the right reasons.” This point is such a reality. The second thing I also like about this book is that the author includes details of his conversations with the therapist. From here we can see how the therapist can direct the patient's mind to decide whether to stay in the marriage or leave it. From the conversation, it can be seen that the therapist did a very good job to make the patient think deeply about his marital problems.

There is nothing I dislike about this book. This book teaches many things about marriage problems whose solutions are also clearly described by the author. Not only teaching, but the author also includes all of his personal experiences in this book and how the insertion is carried out smoothly and neatly. This makes the readers not get bored reading this book. The author also inserts some bible quotes in his book.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book is well-written and seems exceptionally edited. I didn’t find any grammatical or typo errors. I would recommend this book to anyone who’s in a marriage or a partnership. This also goes well for those who are in a tough place in their relationship, so they can learn how to manage their love life and where will they go. And there is nothing wrong with the singles who also read this book, so they can know marriage life and the problems in it.
