Daily Acts of Consciousness: Finding Meaning in the Mundane by Duncan Peter is a non-fiction book on living everyday life with the consciousness of spirituality and universality. It talks about the practicality of metaphysics. The theories were based on ten fundamental laws of the universe, which the author referred to as “Cosmic Givens." With the understanding of the "Cosmic Givens," the book contains a 30-day program on living life with the consciousness of spirituality and connection to the universe. These acts of consciousness generally revolve around dissipating and receiving energy from nature, peace, and positivity, among others. This book answers questions on spiritually connecting to our universe, relieving stress, and maintaining positivity with just a 30-day program.

The whole concept of these theories originated from the author and his friends' desire to live with the consciousness of the spirituality of life years ago. According to the book, spirituality is “a sense of fulfilment or expansiveness from doing something creative or charitable." It was suggested in the book that “the reader also works with a friend, just to keep you both on track." This is a positive feature, as it connotes the power of teamwork.

This book's many acts of consciousness are based on positivity, good vibes, the release of stress, and fewer worries. After writing each daily task, the writer included the experience of others who have followed the procedure. Generally, the results are encouraging and inspiring. This is another positive feature I found in the book.

I consider the author's many spiritual concepts a little different. The author used some theories from Buddhism and Christianity. An example of this is the doctrine of reincarnation. The author used this to explain the sense of spirituality and the illusion of ego and personality.

The continuation of this process might become addictive. In the "Cosmic Givens" of the daily experiment, the writer mentioned that it had an addictive effect on him. Also, in the experience part of DAY 29, there was a similar repeat. The individual wrote, “If I miss a day’s practice, my sleep is affected, and I am more lethargic. (Jane)". I believe the author was referring to a positive addiction because a negative addiction might affect one's mental health. Overall, I don't consider as aspects as negative aspects. Hence, I have no negative aspect of accusing this book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The positives of harnessing the power of thoughts, deeds, and actions in our everyday life would greatly contribute to societal development. This book was also well edited with only a few errors.

I recommend this book to mature readers experiencing a constant weight in living through their everyday life. This book addresses the burden of tedious activities and stresses very well. Our health, both physical, mental, and emotional conditions, were all discussed. But some of these theories might seem to contradict some religious beliefs. But this is undoubtedly not a religious book.

"Cosmic Givens" is an intriguing concept, but I'm not sure what it means or where the ideas came from. I guess I'll have to read this book to find out!

Am curious to read a 30-day program on living life with the consciousness of spirituality and harmony with the universe. This seems to be interesting. Connecting with nature is just awesome. Thanks for the nice review.
