Involuntary Reroute by Robert Laney is a one-of-a-kind book that captures the attention of a reader through and through. The author gives an outlook on how one can travel on first-class flights at discounted or lower prices. The book explains how owners of travel agencies get amazing discounts of up to 75 percent on first-class seats. Other than that, it takes us through the agency start-ups and the challenges and hurdles they go through.

This non-fiction book has an autobiographical feel to it which made it better because I could clearly see things from the author's perspective. I also had a better understanding of his thoughts on certain issues and how he felt about them. Despite the book beginning with a slow lull, it picked up momentum and I couldn't put it down. When Jackie started the travel agency, I couldn't help but wonder how a nineteen-year-old was going to run a business. The first client, Bob Barkman — and also one of the owners — did the business some good when he joined Jackie, but I was also very surprised when he was also the first owner to wreak havoc and try to get out of the agency. With Jackie being only twenty-one years old at that time, handling forty-year-olds was a tough feat because he had to accommodate and fulfill their wants over the well-being of the business most of the time.

I also think of Jackie as a very courageous person because starting a business at nineteen is no joke. Furthermore, I am filled with wonder that a 75 percent discount existed to sell off first-class seats to agency owners. However, it makes sense because once the aircraft is off the ground, the seats are a big loss, so 25 percent of the total price is a better trade-off. I love that the book is raw and doesn't hide the fact that all businesses have their ups and downs. Aside from that, it is very educative on matters concerning airlines and travel agencies.

The book is a perfect read with top-notch plot development and zero editing errors. Each character is well explained, and their roles in the book are clear. I rate the book a 4 out of 4. I don't think there are any reasons to remove any stars since the book has no negative aspects.

The book is ideal for readers who are into information about travel and travel agencies. It also gives a first-hand experience on how to start and manage a business.
