A dream for peace is the life story of a man who faced the hard trials of life while growing up in Africa. This book written by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah speaks about his life journey and the problems he faced while growing up in a colonized country.

Growing up, all he ever thought about was freedom for his motherland Algeria, and he ended up becoming a political activist to liberate his country from the colonizers. This book tells of a courageous man and his exploits in the world. All he ever wanted was peace to reign and to avoid any sort of conflict or war.

While reading this book, it shows that Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was more than just an African. He was also an activist, an ambassador, and a freedom fighter. During his life, he went through many experiences including his scientific discovery while he was at the university studying microbiology. He also contributed to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Despite all this, he was still able to be a caring husband to his lovely wife.

What I loved most about the book was the depiction of each scenario. For example, when he was explaining the culture of the people living on the Ivory Coast. I also enjoyed learning about the history of the Algerians and how they were able to gain independence. I especially loved the description of the euphoria the author felt when hearing the news. I loved how the book touched on important subjects like religion, terrorism, wars, and politics. The book gave an insight into what it was like for the author to be the diplomatic advisor to the Ivorian president. I especially loved how the author advocated for peace throughout his life and this was more evident in his marriage to his wife who was a catholic while being a Muslim himself.

This was also apparent when he joined a friend to build a Catholic Church and a Mosque. I believe the author was very admirable in his quest for peace and I especially admired his courage when faced with troubling situations.

I appreciate that he was able to document most aspects of his life with sheer accuracy. I especially loved the diagrams and letters put in place, that only serve to further prove his credibility. The pictures showed also gave us an insight into what the author looked like which helped our imaginations further.

This book was written in such a way that the chapters are completely independent of each other and can be read separately. It helps to make it easier to read a chapter you're interested in without having to read the whole book. The use of images also helps to break the monotony of the book.

This was an exceptionally written book about the struggles of a man in his pursuit of peace and I could not find anything wrong with the book, therefore I rate this book 4 out of 4.
I will recommend it to individuals who are interested in politics and history. I will especially recommend it to those who are genuinely curious about who Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was.
