In Living Forward after Loss: Rebuilding Your Life After Losing Your Life Partner, a self-help book written by Kathleen Ho decided to share her personal experiences of dealing with grief after losing her beloved husband to a stroke. When Kathleen lost her husband, she felt like she had lost half of her life. She couldn't sleep or eat. She would alternate between great pain and numbness, and after the death of her husband, she found herself questioning how to live and what her purpose was without him.

In this self-help book written by Kathleen Ho, she shared openly about her vulnerability on how she was dealing with her loss and grief in her self-help book. After a long and difficult battle with grief, she was finally able to slowly pick up the pieces of her life and regain her strength two years later. Now, Kathleen wants to honor her late husband's life by writing this book and sharing her own experience with grief in order to help others who might be struggling with a similar loss.

The book was so captivating and unputdownable that I read it within a few hours of starting it. I was entranced by the author's experience with grief from the first page and didn't want to put it down for a second. Other than that, I loved how the author puts suitable, heartwarming, and inspiring quotes throughout the book. And how she went above and beyond by providing emergency hotlines and detailed website recommendations to her readers that dealt with grief and loss. I also loved how the author included a summary at the end of each chapter, which made it easy to review the main takeaways before moving on. Even though the book's contents are deceptively short, the author is able to effectively and concisely convey the main points of the self-help book. In addition to being a well-written self-help book, the book is also professionally well-edited. I didn't encounter any errors during my reading.

Even though I'm not usually into self-help books and I'm not currently dealing with grief, I had nothing but good things to say about this book. I was enthralled from beginning to end. The author's clear, concise, and immersive writing style allows readers to understand her thoughts and feelings about grief easily. The book is effectively organized, so readers can follow the author's journey without feeling confused or lost.

This book is excellently written and deserves a full 4 out of 4 stars. The author provides readers with great, straight-to-the-point tips for those struggling to grapple with the grief of losing a loved one.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with grief and loss. This book would make a great gift for anyone who is struggling with a recent death or going through the grieving process. The activities in this self-help book can be easily applied by people of any age, and it offers a lot of helpful advice for anyone who is struggling to cope with loss.
