[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "How to become an overcomer" by Toni Harris.]
God's ways are difficult to understand, let alone predict. He blesses us with what we ask of Him, but in the most unexpected way. Are you a Christian looking for the best instance of someone testifying to the miracles of God? Then I highly suggest you read this book, How to Become an Overcomer by Toni Harris.
How to Become an Overcomer by Toni Harris is a 10-chapter book consisting of 91 pages. In the book, the author, Toni Harris, gives an explicable summary of the wonders and miracles God kept doing in her life, from when she was a young girl to a fully grown, independent woman. The book also entails the hardships she had to go through as a black woman in a white state. From her high school days to the day she enrolled as a law enforcement officer, she kept facing racial problems from her peers, but she stood firm and believed in God. Give this short but fantastic book a try, and you will understand that the littlest things God does in your life have a long-lasting effect on your everyday life.
I enjoyed every part of the book. Toni Harris penned original statements to help the readers, offering advice on anything from how to be a better parent to forging a close relationship with God. Although those unique statements were practically her own experience in life, they only made it better because if she could do it all while still having such strong faith in God, you can also do it. Toni Harris's testimonials occupy the entire book; if I stated that the book was a testimony, I wouldn't be exaggerating. I also loved the sequence each chapter followed. It seems as though Toni Harris, the author, takes the reader by the hand and patiently explains every detail.
Despite the fact that the plot of the book was well-conveyed, the book has low editing quality for a book that's just 91 pages. Inappropriate mistakes were made in a few places in the book. Aside from those errors, I saw no other flaws or negative aspects in the book.
I rate the book three out of four stars. Although it had some errors, those errors didn't hinder the understanding of the book. With some corrections to the errors in the book, I see no reason why the book shouldn't get a complete rating.
I highly recommend this book to people who wish to strengthen their relationship with God. For individuals who read this book, Toni Harris's experiences and challenges that were later rewarded will act as a stepping stone.
