Review of Butterfly Awakens
Butterfly Awakens: A memoir of transformation through grief by Meg Nocero
Your mother has always been there when you needed her, through all the ups and downs in your life, then you suddenly lose her and need to get through great grief, but you don't know how you are going to cope without her. This (and more) is what Butterfly Awakens by Meg Nocero is about, in this wonderful book Meg talks about her journey through grief and change, she talks about everything she had to go through to find herself after she lost her beloved mom, from losing herself to finding herself. She takes you on her journey in realizing what she was meant to do and reading Butterfly Awakens it feels like you're going along with her, learning the lessons she had to learn with her, discovering inspiring quotes from famous people in the past and present to feeling like you are walking the El Camino de Santiago in honor of her mother with her and wanting to physically be her crutch against all those uphills.
Some positive aspects of Butterfly Awakens is that throughout the book you can find wonderful motivating quotes from various world known people of all times to give you some light in your darkness and that this book is not just for those dealing with the loss of someone, but it is also for those who don't currently believe in themselves or those stuck in a job that they don't enjoy, it's an encouragement to believe in yourself, follow your dreams and just have faith.
I honestly have nothing negative to say about this book, it was edited extremely well, there were no mistakes I picked up on, Meg wrote everything in so much detail that I felt like I was right there with her every step of the way and that I know her personally even though I've never even met her.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, I did not give it three stars because of the excellent way it was written, you feel like you can relate to Meg, it is real, you feel the pain and you also feel the moments of excitement, fear and you feel the LOVE.
I would recommend this book to people going through grief (obviously), struggling to get through the darkness of losing someone close to them. I would also recommend this incredible book to people feeling like they are stuck in a work environment where they feel like they are not appreciated and not getting the credit and opportunities that they deserve, or to people feeling like they are not good enough to make their dreams come true.
This book touches on religion (Catholicism specifically) and it also touches on politics so if you do not like that then you might not like certain aspects of Butterfly Awakens.
Again there are no errors I picked up on and there is also no borderline profanity anywhere throughout the book.
Enjoy.
