No matter the challenges you are faced with, you should always learn to trust God. He is the only true way to happiness. He will give you the strength to withstand any obstacle that comes your way. This was the message the author tried to pass across to the readers. You Can Overcome by Brenda Lee Pruitt is a short spiritual book that encourages readers to trust God in all they do.

As a young child, Brenda had no friends and was always bullied by her mates. Her grandmother would always tell her that her only true friend was Jesus Christ, and this always got her going. Brenda tried to encourage us to choose Jesus out of our free will before it is too late. She also teaches that God’s love is unending. If you decide to give your life to him, he will turn your cries of sorrow into joy and happiness.

I found the author’s words inspiring and comforting. She did not criticize sinners. Rather, she encouraged them to turn to God despite their sins. He is always ready to listen. I believe a lot of readers would be compelled to read this book because of its inspiring book cover and title. The themes contained in this book were love, peace, pain, and a lot more. The author’s writing style was very simple, and this made the book an easy read. I loved how the author began this book by sharing her difficult childhood experiences and how she was able to overcome them. The author was privileged to have known God from a tender age.

It seems this book needs another round of editing as I noticed a lot of grammar and punctuation errors, which disrupted my overall enjoyment of the book. I feel this book would have been better if the author had added more bible verses to support her points. It would have made the book more exciting to read.

This book is a refreshing and inspiring read. I see it as a reassurance of God’s love for us. I rate You Can Overcome by Brenda Lee Pruitt 2 out of 4 stars. I removed two stars because of the complaints stated above. This book is going to be very helpful to a lot of readers. I recommend it to people who are overwhelmed with the challenges of life and have a desire to seek God but do not know how.

It was certainly important for her grandmother to tell her about Jesus but I so hope she made other friends. This story seems really nice. I just don't like the theme of bullying. It's like a turn off. Nice review.

Books with excessive can be so hard to read. I don't think I will be checking this book out. Even though the message is great but the editing is discouraging.
