Over time, so many individuals both small and great have lived and passed on. The true and most important question to ask ourselves is, before leaving this world, what can I contribute positively to make the world a better place? In the case of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, a man with an innovative mindset, in his book, we'll see his major contribution.

A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a non-fictional book depicting his life and achievements in the course of seeking peace. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was born in Aïn Beïda, in northeastern Algeria, at the time when France ruled over Algeria. He started school at the age of five and while in his primary school days, he faced cruelty and mistreatment from French teachers. Then, young Berrah always had it in mind that french would always be the language of foreigners. During his studies at the University of Algiers, his Algerian brothers were killed, and it led to him being a political activist in France. Ever since then, Ghoulem made it his conquest to search for peace. Throughout the remaining part of his life, he worked side by side with presidential figures; Presidents Houphouët–Boigny, Boumédiène, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and others. Read up to know his full life achievements.

What I found unique about this book is Ghoulem's call to service. The way he transitioned from one field to another was something incredible. On the average scale, it isn't easy for an individual to change from one course to another, but he did it perfectly. Even to the point of creating impact wherever he was found. That was amazing. One other thing I found exceptional about his life is his marriage to a Catholic woman. Ghoulem was a Muslim. His marriage to his wife after two failed marriages is something to talk about. I thought it wasn't possible. Well, as long as it's Berrah, anything is possible. One reason why, "Our Common Faith" is my favorite chapter.

Throughout this book, there's nothing to hate. He was a unique character, and so is his book. The way he fought for peace is something to be admired. He said, "though the road to peace has been painfully littered with dangerous outcomes, achieving the ultimate goal in the very near future would go a long way to honor the heroic efforts of those who have been martyred." We are always to remember that peace starts with each of us, and it should not be a dream.

This book turned out to be an amazing read. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is professionally edited with just three typos. This book is a must-read for everyone, especially those interested in non-fictional and biographical books.
