A Dream for Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a non-fictional story with elements of politics, discrimination, decolonization, and biography. This book looks into the life of the writer. Dr. Ghoulem was born in Africa to a poor family. His mother managed to train him until he got a scholarship that took him out of the country. There, he became involved in activism, fighting discrimination against a specific race. His political experience earned him the position of adviser to the president of one Sub-Saharan African country. He did so many great things in several places. One of his greatest achievements was when he settled a dispute between Palestine and Israel.

The novel is educative. I got to learn the history of the world in the 19th century. The book is also inspiring. I was inspired by Dr. Ghoulem's ideology. He is a man blessed with a high level of intelligence. He tries to bring about peace in the world. He travels to different countries and makes friends with various well-known people. He is the leader I look up to. If he was alive today, I believe he would have had help with the current issue Libya is facing today.

Another positive thing about the text is how it includes old pictures. These photos gave me an idea of how the world was in the 19th century, particularly between Africa and Europe. Finally, the text is written in a simple and straightforward language to the extent that even a layman could instantly understand the main theme of the story. While reading it, I didn't even make use of any dictionary like that. Almost all the words are things I have come across before.

I cannot point out any negative things about the novel. It is well-written and free from grammatical mistakes, although I don't like the fact that the story is long. I wish it was cut short. I was eager to rush and read this novel to the end so I could see how it would end. I am not really a patient reader, so I prefer shorter novels. In general, I appreciate this novel for educating me on some things and giving me inspiration. It deserves a 4 out of 4 stars.

The write-up contains no profanity and mature content. Any age can read it. If you are looking for memoir or biography stories, then this book is for you. Those that like politics and history should also read it.
